ffm shadow orchestra - who are they?
« on: July 10, 2011, 11:00:01 PM »
okay, seeing that the forum is silent lately, i thought i could start a new topic :)

i've been talking with sickMF about this a while ago. who are/were the ffm shadow orchestra?
was it one of the many aliases by marc, or miro? or a project by different people?

imho they sound very very much like PCP, so it is hard for me to imagine that it is not either marc or miro... and especially the later tracks by them sound a lot like some of miro's stuff for kotzaak in my opinion...

I think if it's anyone from the main PCP crew it must be Thorsten. He was also keeping up Super Special until the end (2001) where FFM Shadow Orchestra had their last release. (I also bought the cdr a few years ago from thorsten) But if you look on discogs (or the records) at FFM Shadow Orchestra (and Darius G) you see some unknown names. Some of those are also on the B side of SS-13. I always thought that that release was produced by Marc and Thorsten, but i could be wrong.

i always thought radio inferno was just thorsten.  i remember miro telling me that the terrorists side of ss13 was 'some other dude' not thorsten but someone else

yes, it would make sense if it was thorsten...

another idea i had was that maybe the project was open to everyone of the main crew (marc miro thorsten) and that the tracks were done by whoever had interest/time to do them... this idea came to me because the various ffm shadow orchestra tracks sometimes sound very different to each other, and because three names are given on the first ffm shadow orchestra 12 on interzone... (DJ U-Man, Oto Kuraro and Syrius 23).

I always thought it were others then Marc & Miro, though the sounds are like theirs
we'll probably have to wait for a answer for quite a while hehe

on a similiar note, what i found interesting is that in one of the early interviews, marc said that when other artists release on PCP, he "needs" to add the PCP feel to these tracks. i guess with that he means, that he remastered or heavily reworked a lot of the stuff that was done by other artists for PCP.
that could be another explanation for ffm shadow orchestra - other guys, but produced by marc.
(i still find it more likely that it's one or multiple members of the main crew, though).
